HEAR THE WHISPER
The universe — God, Source — speaks to us in its language first:
• Subtle calls to the soul
• Signs and synchronicities
• Intuitive nudges that awaken the gut and heart
• Whispers silent to the ear, but heavy in the body
And when we don’t listen, the universe starts speaking in our language:
• Pain
• Accidents
• Illness
• Disruptions we didn’t ask for
• A confusing, but fierce love for our growth and healing
“Hear The Whisper” is the theme of ManaHeart. It emphasizes that:
• We all carry wisdom in the body, waiting to teach us
• We all have a soul calling us toward the expression of our gifts and purpose
Learning to hear the whisper isn’t a switch we flip — it’s a relationship we cultivate and nurture over time.
For me, that relationship took a dramatic shift in 2011, when the universe spoke loudly.
I was snowboarding down Copper Mountain — an intermediate boarder with zero experience going off jumps. I hit a five-foot mound, thinking I’d land my first jump. Instead, I launched into the air like an X-Games stunt gone wrong.
When I landed, everything hurt. My head. My back. My body. I pulled off my left glove and saw that my wrist was mangled - broken. The physician would tell me later that it broke into 5 pieces.
In the hours ahead, I’m not sure which pain was worse, the physical pain itself, or being scared about having surgery and how this injury could impact me long term.
Although pain and immediate medical attention consumed the first couple of days, I quickly knew from all my spiritual teachings growing up that: “This is a message”
2011 was the year the universe had to use the only language I would understand at that time: Pain.
Within days, I could feel that the injury carried meaning. I kept dropping into prayer — the kind of prayer born from urgency and readiness. “Show me what I need to see.”
And it did.
What surfaced surprised me:
I had an unhealthy attachment to money.
I was overly frugal.
I lived from fear, not trust.
And this dynamic was stifling my ability to live from faith, presence, and greater purpose.
So I shifted.
I began counting dollars less and minutes more.
I worried less about the zeroes in my bank account and more about honoring the moment with reciprocity — even when it felt financially backward.
I didn’t know it then, but this inner shift was preparing me for one of the biggest events of my life.
In October of 2011, I co-founded my first company — The Sanctuary Healing Spa. We invested nearly everything we had: $30,000 out of $30,000. No loans. We even sold our car for more runway and leased a new one just to get through our first year.
Some friends and family advised us not to do it.
But I was learning to hear the whisper.
And today — 14 years later — The Sanctuary is one of the most established and reputable wellness spas in Fort Collins, CO, serving the community every day.
I’m no longer the owner. But am overjoyed to know that some of the staff from my tenure are still with the company today.
In January of 2020, I stepped away because the whisper called me again.
This time, I didn’t need an injury to force the lesson.
I left during our biggest year ever — against the advice of those same family and friends (people I love dearly) — because I’ve learned to trust the wisdom of the body and the calling of the soul.
I learned that alignment is abundance.
That connection is wealth.
That joy is the real measure of success and must be equated by how you treat everyone involved, both clients and teammates.
And above all:
Hear the whisper — before life needs to speak louder.
This is why I’m a heart guide and consultant today. Supporting others on their path to deepen their connection with themselves. Hearing our inner wisdom can change our entire trajectory!
When was the last time you felt a quiet intuitive nudge… and actually followed it? What changed when you did?
What tends to happen in your life when you ignore your intuition? Does it get louder… or more painful?
If your soul could whisper one message to you right now, what would it be asking you to acknowledge, release, or step into?
In what areas of your life does the universe have to “speak louder” to get your attention? Relationships? Health? Work?
What practices help you hear the whisper more clearly — stillness, time in nature, breathwork, prayer, journaling?
